ASSISTANT WELLNESS DIRECTOR

MISSION

Responsible for assisting the Wellness Director in the overall direction, development, coordination and supervision of the Wellness staff. Ensure all Personal Trainers attain their service and sales goals on a monthly basis, and provide staff with continual professional growth and development. Responsible for connecting members to club offerings and programs to maximize workout efficiency, improve nutrition and fitness, increase stamina, enjoy their fitness experience and improve overall sense of well-being. Schedule and complete reports according to standard operating procedures.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct Wellness consultations on members including pre-participation screening, medical history, lifestyle questionnaire, and goal setting to assess and recommend Wellness programs
  • Assist Wellness Director with recruiting, interviewing and onboarding new personal trainers
  • Complete and maintain accurate and current client information
  • Monitor and instruct clients during personal training sessions on the safe and effective use of cardiovascular, flexibility and strength training equipment
  • Other responsibilities or projects as assigned by the Wellness Director
  • Make follow-up calls to members; determine if the new member is making progress toward their goals
  • Refer members to appropriate products and services based on their likes and needs
  • Produce monthly reports to determine the success of the program; provide feedback to Wellness Director
  • Assist Wellness Director with performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions and conflict resolution
  • Supervise personal trainers to ensure high quality training sessions
  • Manage NMI process confirmation calls to members and attendance of the new members
  • Responsible for achieving or exceeding personal monthly revenue and session goals
  • Ensure that all new member information (completed paperwork, email address, etc.) is correct
  • Responsible for achieving or exceeding the Personal Training team revenue and session goals
  • Distribute and track NMI appointments to the Wellness team
  • Work closely with the Membership Department to obtain names of all new members and ensure the successful transition between point-of-sale and regular use of the club
  • Assist in facilitating health and fitness instruction seminars for club members
  • Make random NMI follow up calls for the first year (i.e., 48 hours, 2 weeks, 30 and 60 days, 6 and 12 months).
  • Complete weekly meetings with Trainers to review business plans and work on business and technical skill development
  • Assist the Wellness Director in managing and facilitating the new member integration program
  • Educate members on current health and fitness issues and trends
  • Mentor Personal Trainers and provide feedback, giving them tools to improve and develop stronger sales and customer service skills
  • Assist with associate wellness programs and quarterly challenges
  • Act as the Wellness Director in the absence of the Wellness Director
  • Develop safe, professional, exciting and comprehensive personal training programs to ensure clients are satisfied with their workout program and remain motivated to attain their personal fitness goals
  • Schedule appointments for the New Member Integration (NMI) process

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT

  • Meet/exceed New Member Integration booking, completion and conversion goals
  • Meet/exceed departmental net income budget
  • Meet/exceed Wellness Department Quality Assurance scores
  • Meet/Exceed Facility Walkthrough and Member Satisfaction scores
  • Remain current on certifications and new trends in the fitness industry
  • Complete New Hire Training Checklist for Personal Trainers within 90 days of hire
  • Meet/exceed Personal Training team revenue and session goals
  • Retention and development of staff; associate satisfaction
  • Complete all assigned ClubSport University courses
  • Meet/exceed personal monthly revenue and session goals

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Qualified candidates, with or with out reasonable accommodations, must be able to:
