Assistant Teacher Jobs

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists Teacher I in planning, implementing, and evaluating daily activities for children in their assigned group.
• Responds in a professional manner to all situations.
• Directs classroom activities in the absence of the Teacher I.
• Maintains health and safety of children and environment.
• Participates in ongoing professional development.
• Interacts positively with children at all time.
• Keeps appropriate records.
• Creates and maintains a physical environment that promotes positive development.

• Demonstrated knowledge of child development/management techniques, appropriate activities for children and related care regulations. Must be willing to obtain additional training on a regular basis.
• Must be energetic, and an interest in and enjoyment of children.
• One (1) year experience in a structured program with children or a certification in Early Childhood Care and Education.
• Must be certified in CPR and First Aid.
• Must possess good written and oral communication skills.

• College courses or vocational school training in early childhood education.
