Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team in supporting a project for the Department, of Veterans Benefits Administration. This endeavor involves providing essential project management support, overseeing event coordination, and driving business process enhancements within VBA's enterprise-level human capital ideation initiatives and customer experience portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Define project requirements by outlining milestones, tracking project budgets, and ensuring project progress through activity monitoring, issue resolution, progress reporting, and recommendation formulation.
Propose enhancements to business processes through comprehensive analysis, presenting potential solutions for future state activities and implementation.
Determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering pertinent information, and evaluating output requirements and formats.
Contribute to protocol development by composing and updating procedures to streamline operations.
Prepare project management documentation and leadership briefings, ensuring clear communication of project status and objectives.
Maintain comprehensive user documentation to serve as a valuable reference resource.
Uphold client confidence and operational integrity by safeguarding information confidentiality.
Pursue professional growth and certifications by participating in educational workshops, staying current with industry publications, networking, and engaging in professional development activities.
Qualifications For Success
A minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
Strong ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based environment.
Capacity to work independently, establish strong client relationships, and exhibit leadership qualities.
Proficiency in leading and facilitating client meetings, conference calls, and accurate meeting note-taking.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with a mature judgment approach to troubleshooting.
Exceptional organizational skills, enabling management of multiple projects/clients concurrently.
Profound analytical aptitude, adeptness in presentation creation, and strong written communication skills.
Outstanding proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
Unwavering work ethic coupled with a commitment to delivering excellent client service.
Notable presence when engaging with clients.
Additional Details
Preferred experience with federal government projects.
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in business management, project management, or a related field.
Mandatory possession of Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Potential requirement to obtain US government security clearance, as necessary.
