HDR’s Relicensing team has an opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager position for a candidate with proven experience in regulatory projects or assistant project management function(s). The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience with a clear desire to grow within a highly diversified and collaborative team. Candidate must be able to work closely with our team and clients and think strategically to help coordinate small to large, and oftentimes complex, tasks and projects. The position is intended to support the continued and long-term growth of the Northern California FERC regulatory team. An understanding of the CA regulatory, environmental matters and/or FERC processes is a plus.

In the role of Assistant PM, we'll count on you to:

  • Work with the Project Manager, Regional Controller and Department Manager or Managing Principal for project reviews with corporate management as needed
  • Review data, studies, and regulations, and assist in preparing environmental and regulatory documents
  • Coordinate the work of multidisciplinary teams throughout an entire project's development and implementation, while under the guidance and supervision of a Project Manager
  • Work under the guidance of the Project Manager on maintaining all project related financials and schedules, as requested
  • Perform other duties as needed
  • Coordinate workload through the entire project development and implementation and keep deliverables on schedule
  • Provide exceptional client-facing service throughout the lifecycle of projects for both internal and external clients

Qualifications


Required Qualifications

  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management, Planning, Policy, Engineering and/or Science or related field
  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • A minimum of 5 years overall professional experience with minimum of 3yrs related experience as a deputy/assistant project manager or technical/task lead or a combination thereof

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with subconsultants and large, diverse teams
  • Knowledge of FERC licensing or similar regulatory and consultation processes
  • 5 or more years related experience as a Deputy/Assistant Project Manager or technical/task lead or a combination thereof
  • Prior consulting experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with the hydropower and/or water industry in California

The expected compensation range for this position is $90,629 - $147,000 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
