Job Description

What you will do:

The Assistant Project Manager will work as an individual contributor alongside the Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) team members. Specific duties will include:

  • Work with the Project Manager and key strategic partners to monitor project budget and schedule, risk assessments, legal assessments, commitments and deliverables.
  • Track, review and process all construction documentation including but not limited to change proposal requests, change orders, claims, requests for information and project notices.
  • Assist the Project Manager in analyzing variances from schedule and budget. Prepare variance reports then research and report plans for remediation.
  • Work with the Project Manager to review and approve contractor pay applications, ensuring that all necessary substantiating documentation is received prior to payment approval.
  • Support the project as a backup to the Project Manager in instances where the Project Manager is not immediately available.
  • Work with project personnel to ensure all project documentation is filed and distributed correctly.
  • Assist the Project Manager in the development and management of the critical path construction schedule for each project.
  • Assist the Project manager in producing a responsibility listing for the entire project staff, including but not limited to administrative assignments.
  • Manage compliance to all project contracts and agreements.
  • Assist the Project Manager in the strict adherence to company documentation procedures for all on-site and off-site operations.
  • Facilitate and lead on-site meetings & conference calls as a backup to the Project Manager.
  • Manage the preparation and execution of the project closeout process, including all project turnover documentation. Including but not limited to warranty assignments, third party authorizations and as-built diagram coordination.
  • Assist the Project manager in the preparing and obtaining approval for budget requests, change orders, payment applications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Office
  • Bachelor’s degree with concentration in construction management, business, finance, economics, engineering, and/or other quantitative/environmental fields strongly preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in project management or project engineering for utility scale photovoltaic and battery storage components including, but not limited to, modules, inverters, transformers, racking, and batteries
  • Ability to work approximately 80% of time on-site in Tonopah, AZ.
