Assistant Principal Jobs

The Big Walnut Local School District seeks an outstanding educational leader to serve as Big Walnut High School Assistant Principal. This is a 225-day position with administrative benefits set to begin with the 2023.2024 school year. Specifically, in addition to effective managerial skills, we seek a candidate who:

• Has skills consistent with the state Principal Standards (a copy of the Standards can be found at https://education.ohio.gov/getattachment/Topics/Teaching/Educator-Equity/Ohio-s-Educator-Standards/Ohio_Principal_Standards.pdf.aspx?lang=en-US )
• Has a strong understanding of research-based best practices
• Demonstrates student-centered leadership
• Is trained in or will be trained in OTES - including experience with classroom walk-throughs and knowledge of student growth measures
• Demonstrates a high-level of visibility in the school and wider school community for events during and after school
• Has the ability to lead the district vision and build an environment of continuous improvement
• Has experiences in implementing an effective Response to Intervention (RtI) model
• Exhibits a strong work ethic and high energy level
• Understands needs and laws pertaining to students with disabilities
• Possesses excellent communication skills as a speaker and listener, as well as the interpersonal skills to work tactfully, creatively and collaboratively with staff, students, parents and community members
• Possesses proven ability to evaluate teachers, staff and programs for optimal effectiveness
• Displays exemplary leadership in curriculum, instruction and assessment
• Possesses knowledge of high school curriculum and innovative practices that meet the needs of students for the 21st century
• Has experience in supporting positive school climate and culture

• Masters Degree or higher in Educational Administration
• Valid State of Ohio administrative licensure
• Experience in classroom, experience in administration preferred
