Organization: Radiology

Title: Assistant or Associate Professor (WOT) - Pediatric Radiology, Interventional Radiology

Position Details

Position Description

The Department of Radiology in the School of Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle is recruiting for one full-time (100% FTE) faculty position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor, without tenure (WOT) by reason of funding, to join the Pediatric Radiology section based at Seattle Children's Hospital in Seattle, Washington with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2023. Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Associate Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. In addition to clinical activities, responsibilities will include instruction of medical students, residents, and fellows. Productivity in research and other academic pursuits is mandatory for promotion.

Clinical responsibilities include patient care in interventional radiology. Additional responsibilities include teaching and supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows, contribution to weekly interdepartmental clinical conferences, quality assurance and continuous process improvement, engagement in academic and research activities, and assigned administrative duties. All UW faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

Seattle Children’s is a 407+ bed medical regional center; over 136,000 pediatric imaging examinations per year are performed across all modalities within the Hospital and associated outpatient clinics. Successful applicants will join our 3 current full time pediatric interventional radiologists, 2 advanced practice providers and 22 pediatric diagnostic radiology faculty members, participating in the ongoing education of 4-5 fellows and 6-9 residents. The institution is committed to clinical and research excellence, and pediatric radiologists are encouraged and supported in clinical and basic research efforts. Compensation and fringe benefits are competitive.

The base salary range for this position will be: $36,713 - $40,385 per month ($440,556 - $484,620 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. This position is incentive eligible through the physicians practice plan.
