Assistant Librarian Jobs

The Assistant Librarian will collaborate with our Head Librarian and classroom teachers to staff library spaces and develop information and media literacy skills, empowering students to become critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information. This specialist teaches library skills to students in grades TK-12 and performs clerical and technical tasks in the library spaces.

We seek and educator who is able to plan, organize, and implement differentiated instructional programs and effectively collaborate with academic departments, grade-level teams, and individual colleagues. • MLIS degree or current enrollment in an MLIS or equivalent program from ALA accredited program or international equivalent preferred
• Bachelors degree required
• Experience with library automation systems, educational technology, library research methods, literacy development
• At least 18 semester hours of coursework including school library administration, childrens/young adult literature, reference, collection development, and organization of information

Compensation Range

$29 per hour - $32 per hour based upon, but not limited to, several factors that include type and years of experience, education level, and expertise.
