Department Summary
The University of Oregon Intercollegiate Athletic Department's primary purpose is to provide a unique opportunity for student-athletes to be developed, tested, and encouraged to reach their maximum potential in every aspect of their lives. The department has approximately 250 administrative & classified employees and hosts over 600,000 spectators annually and represents the University of Oregon in athletic competition with other universities & colleges.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Football Operations, this position has managerial responsibility and accountability for the administration and coordination of one or more of the football department’s programs. It is also responsible for a variety of student-athlete related functions. In doing so, the incumbent exercises independent, professional judgment beyond proscribed routine policies and procedures to carry out the athletic department and football program’s mission statement to recruit and retain student-athletes for the University of Oregon. The independent decisions made by the incumbent commit this program to a specific course of action, carry fiduciary responsibility and accountability for managing at least one unit program, including recruiting, external relations, student-athlete development and/or operations. This position is part of a management team that determines the success of both the football program on-field success and the student-athlete’s success as an individual. The person hired into this position will be responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the university, the Pac-12 Conference and the NCAA.
Minimum Requirements
  • Experience working in a collegiate or professional football program.
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, coaches, student-athletes, athletic

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of recruitment process for Division I football student-athletes.
