Assistant Director - District Activities & Athletics

:
Assists with the management and direction of the District’s programs in activities, athletics, and student leadership. Assists with directing educationally based programs that support positive social, physical, and ethical development of students. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION or FORMAL TRAINING:
  • Bachelor's Degree is required, Master's Degree is preferred
  • CDE Principal Licensure is desired

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Director level experience in High School / Middle School Activities or Athletics is required. Coaching or Sponsorship experience is strongly preferred.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS/CONDITIONS:
This job will be performed across district schools, facilities or events. The following physical demands are representative of those that are typically required in the successful performance of this position, but unforeseen circumstances may introduce additional demands/exposure or responsibilities.
  • Work is generally performed in a typical school office environment with standard desk, equipment, fluorescent lighting and a moderate noise level
  • Occasional exposure to airborne particles, fumes, and outdoor weather conditions

Physical ability to perform job functions, to include:
  • Vision, auditory, and mental acuity within normal ranges
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, and bending
  • Occasional lifting (up to 10 pounds),
  • Frequent use of hands, keyboarding and writing
  • District-wide travel to/from assigned schools, facilities or events

Position Specific Information (if Applicable):

Responsibilities:
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Monitor overnight travel requests.
  • Oversee Unified Sports Programs at all levels.
  • Develop and implement student leadership, student voice, and student engagement opportunities and programs. Co-Facilitate the DCSD Student Advisory Group.
  • Manage and negotiate Sponsorships and Fundraising for stadiums and District Department.
  • Serve as a contributing member of CHSAA organization and regional athletic and activities leagues, providing District perspective and leadership while determining rules and regulations governing local and state athletic programming.
  • Collaborate with O&M, Planning and Construction regarding activities/athletic facilities upkeep and improvements. Negotiate contracts for equipment and services.
  • Collaborate with District stakeholders with planning and implementing Elementary School Activities and Enrichment and Middle School Activities and Athletics Programs.
  • Develop and monitor Activities and Athletics personnel and budget, including analysis of budget expenditures and recommendations for on-going program effectiveness.
  • Support planning and oversight of Graduation Ceremonies.
  • Oversee Activities and Athletics employees, certified and classified. Collaborate with school Administrators for other human resources functions, such as mentoring, staff development training, grievance handling, performance evaluations, discipline, and terminations.

Certifications:
CO Principal Licensure - Colorado Department of Education

Education:

Minimum Hire Rate:
$72,100.00 USD Annual

Maximum Hire Rate:
$91,175.00 USD Annual

Full Salary Range:
$72,100.00 USD - $110,250.00 USD Annual
  • All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
