Overview of the Position
Creative, self-motivated, deadline-driven, results-oriented Assistant Designer needed for our San Fernando Valley based office in California. This role will support the VP of Design in the creative execution of product and day-to-day projects.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
· Support the design team in preparation of the line and other materials needed for internal and external presentation: line sheets, boards, fabric swatches, samples.
· Assist in set up and breakdown of room for internal meetings.
· Pack and ship samples and related materials for external presentations or trade shows.
· Receive and unpack packages from vendors and buyers.
· Coordinate account meetings with sales team on dates and materials needed.
· Communicate design details and revisions to cross functional team while maintaining accurate records and entry into systems.
· Interact with cross-functional teams daily to resolve issues or to provide additional information as requested.

· Create and update reports and other necessary project documents as requested.
· Stay up to date with design and development milestones to ensure timely completion of projects.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Knowledge:
· Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.
· Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills while maintaining accurate/on-time results
· Must be able to develop and drive improvement initiatives independently.
· Excellent communication skills and finding solutions to problems.
· Must be extremely organized, detail oriented with the ability to multitask in a deadline driven environment.
· Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
· Must have the ability to manage through change.
· Strong interpersonal collaboration skills to work with international cultures.
· Process driven and time/action calendar focused.
Requirements:
· Degree in apparel design-related discipline or combination of relevant education and experience with 1-2 years apparel experience.
· Proficient in MS Office suite and Adobe Creative suite
· Working knowledge of garment construction and measurements.
