Emerge is actively recruiting qualified candidates for a direct hire Assistant Controller job in Erie, PA for our client, a group of manufacturers of quality products. The Assistant Controller is responsible for preparing financial statements, cost accounting, month end closing, Inventory, and other accounting tasks. We are seeking candidates with experience in accounting in a manufacturing company and cost accounting experience. This is a career track job that will lead to a controller role within a few years. Responsibilities for the Assistant Controller Job near Erie, PA

• Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditure.
• Coordinating accounting functions and programs.
• Support new business initiative, systems integrations, and other major change managements impacting financials statement.
• Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
• Contribute to projects to implement process improvements and internal controls for financial reporting and technical accounting.
• Assisting with annual audit preparations.
• Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
• Cost accounting, fixed assets and inventory.
• Preparing financial analyses and reports.

Qualifications:

• Ability to simplify complex topics, both verbally and in written communications; strong team-oriented skills as well as a high level of self-motivation in work. independently. Ability to work with a diverse group of people across various levels, functions, and locations.
• Excellent technical accounting knowledge and ability to research GAAP accounting standards, document conclusions and communicate effectively.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting with 5 years accounting experience including financial reporting, consolidations, or technical accounting in a manufacturing environment.
• International accounting/multi-unit accounting experience is a plus!
• Cost accounting experience in manufacturing is a Plus!
