Job Description

Eaton’s CPDI OPS Operations division is currently seeking a Assembly Test Technician. At our Raleigh, NC location they engineer, manufacturer, and ship prodcuts related to electrical power distribution to 6 different segments. Some of those include Utilties, Institutions, Aerospace, and Residential. The Material Handler role offers a 40-hour paid work week with hours being 6:00am-2:30pm Monday-Friday. WIth full time employment you are offered Benefits (Medical, Dental, & Vision), 401K percent match plan, and vacation.

The hourly rate for this position is $18.00 per hour.

What you’ll do:

The Electrical Test Assembler II will build sub-assemblies and assemblies involving complex and repetitive wiring for Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS).

  • Prep Units for test by installing input, output, and battery cables
  • Flex to perform assembly, complex and repetitive wiring, and/or UPS operation to complete final assembly of the product.
  • Material Handling utilizing forklifts, electric pallet jacks, etc.
  • Installs and tear-out switch hear using one-line diagrams
  • Assist in test maintenance as required
  • Performs Lockout & Tag-out to install and tear-out equipment and units supporting test schedules
  • Perform heavy work including cable installation and removal (max of 50-lbs)
  • Move, Install, and tear-out UPS Electrical Units

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required from an accredited educational institution.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in the manufacturing or electrical field.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, SOPs, and engineering drawings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with product electrical assembly, maintenance and/or repair
  • Experience with point-to-point wiring test using meters.
  • Previous experience with standard operating procedures
  • Two or more years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly
  • Soldering experience

Skills:

  • Stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this position.
  • Ability to distinguish colored wiring
  • Work daily and/or weekend overtime, willingness to flex to different areas or local plants as needed
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility.
  • Read and interpret standard operating procedures.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding of basic electricity
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrate technical aptitude (ability to read wiring diagrams and other technical drawings)
