Position Description: The Laborer is responsible for the overall quality of the “handwork” on our jobs. We require that they be committed to the total Ajax team effort by contributing to the proper completion of the work as directed by the Foreman.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Note: The following duties are descriptive and not exhaustive. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position. Major duties include the following:

• Assure all joints are properly matched
• Assure overall job drainage
• Maintain proper drainage of handwork areas
• _Performs all functions as directed by foreman or lead operator in conjunction with preparation, layout, cleaning, paving, compaction, and finishing operations
• Cuts, removes and straightedges all butt joints
• Maintain consistent quality, texture in handwork
• Assist in handwork, prep work and cleanup as directed by the foreman
• Maintain cut off saw in safe operating condition
• Keep compaction personnel informed when handwork areas are ready for compaction

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The essential functions of this position includes sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, bending, trunk movements, lifting minimum of 45 lbs., carrying, pushing/pulling, low level work, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking.
CHARACTER REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work well with subordinates, peers and supervisors
• Self-motivated
• Ambitious

ATTENDANCE AND RELIABILITY

• Not abusing or taking advantage of personal days off
• Performing such other duties as may be required
• Always providing proper notification and advance notice of absence
• Reporting to work on time, after lunch, and not leaving early unless authorized
