Short Description
The Area Fleet Manager will support multiple locations and various fleet to improve asset performance by optimizing fleet utilization and profitability and assisting with remarketing efforts, The Area Fleet Manager will work with the Region Fleet Operations Manager, Region Operations. Managers, and Branch Managers to develop and execute a fleet strategy to optimize returns on overall fleet assets.
Responsibilities
- Support rental need / deal sourcing as necessary
- Fleet aging analysis and follow up at local level
- Support all team members
- Seasonal fleet planning – Snow removal, refineries, plant turnarounds
- Manage fleet utilization as a metric of FUR and UPA
- Deadline analysis – work with Maintenance Managers and branches to provide heightened visibility to monitor trends, major failures, etc
- Lost Rent management – trending, tracking, and movement of fleet throughout Regions/Division to eliminate un-needed purchases and transfers
- Geographic/Product based specialization analysis
- Based on analysis, identify opportunities for warranty collection
- Re-rent management – weekly analysis of profit margins; reduce underperformance; re-negotiate with vendors
- Utilize Qlik Reports and train management on use
- Assist Fleet Manager on major projects
- Identify root cause of underperforming assets (rate, time ute, condition, etc) and suggest corrective action
- Work detailed Fleet Plan at branch level
