Fiat Powertrain Technologies of North America, Inc (a Brand under the Iveco Group) is looking for an Application Project Lead to join our team! The Application Project Leader performs testing on engines and vehicles to validate new FPT Engine applications and provides technical advice to the brand team to develop, and successfully implement product or service solutions that will meet the customer's needs. Would be expected to support development and controls issue resolution as well as mentoring Junior level members of the team.
May need to travel and work at our Wichita, Kansas location.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop, evaluate, and review integration and installation procedures and standards to ensure that work is of a consistently high quality.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to travel domestic and international (25 percent).
- Main Application reference contact for vehicle engineering teams and for FPT development team
- Support development of younger members of team on technical development and growth.
- Prepare simple technical documentation to guide system users and to assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the system.
- Evaluate complete Application cost/effort: Evaluate project proposals to ensure they are technically accurate, consistent with the organization's quality and product standards, and align with the organization's overall strategy for its products and services.
- Participate with functional groups and engineers in maintaining application and certification requirements in support of product launch milestones.
- Perform on vehicle testing per application sign off documents. Complete testing reports and sign off documents in a timely manner.
- Liaise with hardware, software, and systems design engineers to ensure that products are modified, configured, and installed according to customer needs.
- Application project status tracking and reporting: Coordinate testing activities with customer and supporting team members as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Experience in engine and equipment testing and data review
- Experience testing diesel engines, including use of industry standard tools: Inca, MatLab, CANalyzer
- Experience with vehicle integration
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and eight (8) or more years of experience in engine or equipment engineering.
