Position Highlights:

  • Focus on team-based care
  • Excellent support staff and dedicated practice management systems
  • Full complement of clinical and administrative support teams to assist with patient care, including a dedicated Medical Assistant for each provider
  • Collegial multispecialty group practice with a large referral base

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Obtains detailed history and develops patient care charts; performs physical examinations and evaluations on assigned patients; assesses and treats medical problems and provides direct patient care to a specified patient population
  • Assists in providing pre-op and post-op care; writes appropriate orders
  • Notifies attending physician on call, house physician on call, or supervising physician regarding any unusual or unexpected events or problems requiring direct physician consultation
  • Supervises and/or coordinates the activities of patient care and support staff within the clinic
  • Writes progress notes on patients' charts indicating patient status and treatment procedures performed; maintains other records as required
  • Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods
  • Provides health education to patients, families and/or community health practitioners and groups; may train and supervise medical residents engaged in specific clinical activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Possession of state and federal Controlled Substance Registration
  • Training and experience: Unless otherwise indicated, preferred one year of current experience within the last three years in a comparable job classification but would be open to new graduates
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance. Candidates must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Master’s degree in nursing with advanced skills in physical assessment OR Possession of a Bachelor’s degree, together with a certificate from completing an American Medical Association approved physician assistant program. Licensed to practice in NYS
  • Registered Nurse with current unrestricted license to practice and use the title of NursePractitioner/Advanced Practice Nurse in NYS or PA
  • Maintenance of current Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for HealthCare Workers or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification for HealthCare workers
  • Possess current advanced certifications as required by clinical practice area/client:(i.e. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Certification by American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) OR certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

New York, NY Residents Only: The salary/hourly range for New York residents is $110,040 to $139,000. Salary Range is defined as total cash compensation at target. The actual range and pay mix of base and bonus is variable based upon experience and metric achievement. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
