Junior Copywriter
Reports to
Assistant Copy Manager
Overview
The Junior Copywriter is responsible for all product copy, including product-copy descriptions, as well as other marketing copy projects, as delegated by the senior team.
Responsibilities
- Name products and write compelling product copy with attention to grammar, readability, style & accuracy of product information
- Edit & proofread like a pro
- Follow-up with merchandise coordinators and buying teams to obtain missing information on product information sheets
- Keep copy information up to date in internal tracking systems, tracking missing copy and following up on priority activations and product information updates
- Respond to requests for online copy changes
- Proofread anthropologie.com and make edits as necessary, to keep product copy on the site clean, consistent, and error-free
- Continually identify ways to enhance the customer experience
- Research use of copy on competitive websites, consumer publications, books, magazines, and social media platforms
- Perform other creative and administrative tasks in support of senior team
Qualifications
- Versatile, fast writer who can produce up to 300 copy blocks on a weekly basis
- Attention to detail and fact-checking ability
- Thorough researcher
- Journalistic sensibility for determining what makes a fresh angle
- Knowledge of and avid interest in apparel, home, décor, and beauty trends
- Knowledge of and avid interest in seasonal lifestyle trends
- Adaptive to change and tight deadlines
- Self-starter and enthusiastic team player
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Literature, or a related field
