Job Description
Central Michigan University College of Medicine (CMED) is seeking an anatomist to join our Foundational Sciences Discipline. The successful candidate will work closely with two anatomy faculty members to coordinate lab content as part of a cross-disciplinary and inquiry-based medical school curriculum that includes case-based and team-based learning. Duties include working collaboratively to prepare cadaveric prosections and student lab activities, instructing students in weekly lab sessions and participating in multidisciplinary facilitation of group sessions and/or lectures. This is an open rank/open track position dependent on successful candidates' qualifications. Scholarly activities will be appropriate to the track. The start date is negotiable. CMU College of Medicine encourages applicants from historically underrepresented populations, veterans, women, and other minorities to apply.

The Central Michigan University College of Medicine welcomed its inaugural class in the summer of 2013. CMED's mission is to educate diverse students and trains culturally competent physicians to provide comprehensive care and services to underserved populations in Michigan and beyond. Students admitted into the medical school learn from a curriculum designed to prepare them to practice in these areas when they complete their residency training. This curriculum uses advanced technology, including state-of-the-art simulation and clinical skills labs. The College is accredited by The Liaison Commission on Medical Education and has experienced significant growth since its founding and continues to invest in its capacity to provide exceptional education and training to its students.

As a Central Michigan University benefit-eligible employee, you will receive a robust benefit package that offers a variety of choices. These benefits combined with your pay provide a compensation package that can be customized based on individual choice and personal preference. Along with medical, dental and vision insurance CMU offers a generous retirement contribution, professional development funding, tuition benefit program and health and wellness program.

Qualified candidate will have a Masters Degree in related area (Instructor Rank) or Ph.D M.D. or D.O. (for all other ranks), with experience in and strong commitment to innovative approaches to education and learning preferably in a medical school setting. Candidate must have human cadaver experience and teaching cadaver-based human gross anatomy at university level. Should possess evidence of incorporating DEI into pedagogical and or research practices. Ideal candidate will enjoy working in a highly collaborative and integrated curriculum.
