Position Summary
This position is responsible for administrative and analytical support to the Maritime Safety & Compliance department and works under direct supervision of the Sr. Manager, SQM and Audit Program. This position manages the product administration and support of SeaEvent and the SeaEvent Support inbox ticket system. Additionally, this role is responsible for internal training on usage of our safety management system tools (SeaEvent as well as SQM) for users throughout the organization. This individual will be responsible for the implementation of regulatory, ship-specific, brand-specific and fleetwide directives into our management systems, in close collaboration with the appropriate content owners within the operation.  To accomplish this task, the individual must not only have a comprehensive knowledge of shipboard operations and shoreside support functions, but also a thorough understanding of the various aspects of our management system and their practical application on a daily basis, for both ship and shore. The individual will also consult with internal clients in various departments (shoreside and shipboard) to gather, analyze, and report data for recommended courses of action.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Experience with analytical tools, preferred.
  • Actively trend system faults / tickets for RCG’s safety systems and proactively seeks solutions without intervention. Serves as main point of contact for system enhancements needed for our SeaEvent and SQM platforms.
  • Knowledge of Tableau Power BI or other business intelligence software preferred.
  • Provide legal SQM archive record requests in a timely manner.
  • Manages SeaEvent Support Inbox and provides administrative support to include but not limited to: credential setup and password access, permission assignment, troubleshooting SeaEvent issues for shipboard/ shoreside employees.
  • Manage analyzing and uploading of external audit findings from our recognized organization into SeaEvent system for follow-up and implementation.
  • Responsible for processing and maintaining Crew Cabin requests for both internal and external auditors.
  • Serves as subject matter expert with vendor on meetings related to the maintenance of our safety systems and provides continuous monitoring until resolved.
  • Responsible for attending departmental lead meetings and developing meeting minutes for stakeholder review and follow-up.

  • Coordination and support the development, tracking/monitoring and reporting of several small size projects from inception to completion, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery of project outputs.
  • Coordinate and lead UAT testing for system enhancements of SeaEvent and SQM or other safety systems as applicable.
  • Coordinate SQM Comments Manager web portal maintenance and ensure appropriate follow-up with users for action and completion.
  • Work closely with the IT department as required, to resolve management system related technical issues, and to further develop our Maritime Safety & Compliance system databases.
  • Subject matter expertise in aggregation and analysis from various data sources, using mathematical approaches (percentages, index creation, etc.) to normalize and more clearly project information.
  • Source system data for strategic dashboards in order to support departmental lead in various projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain Management Systems/Maritime Safety Homeport/SharePoint site(s) in accordance with the latest updates/requirements.
  • Identify, manage, and participate in the training needs for safety systems and continue to provide ongoing support to all stakeholders both shipboard and shoreside.
  • Generate statistics and reports on reach and engagement to identify trends related to departmental needs and initiatives.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong analytic, problem solving, organizational, attention to detail, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Self-motivated, adaptive, proactive, quick learner, and work well with others with minimum supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Management of Information Systems (MIS) or a closely related discipline (Management Science, Industrial Engineering).
  • Subject matter expertise in aggregation and analysis from various data sources, using mathematical approaches (percentages, index creation, etc.) to normalize and more clearly project information.
  • Experience with analytical tools, preferred.
  • Knowledge of Tableau Power BI or other business intelligence software preferred.
