Job Title
Algorithmic Quant Strategist, RBC Capital Markets, LLC, New York, NY:
Think analytically and propose innovative solutions to trading challenges. Parse, clean and transform unstructured or time-series data into data sets that can be researched and analyzed. Conduct statistical research to identify and isolate relevant feature sets that drive asset pricing, liquidity evolution. Develop software for pricing, hedging and routing orders to various exchange markets. Provide trading support for algorithmic strategies. Proactively identify operational risks/ control deficiencies in the business. Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities. Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions promptly. Meet with clients to educate and to promote RBC electronic trading services.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Financial Mathematics or a related field and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate work experience.
Must have 5 years of experience in the following:
- Developing software in Python, R, C++, Java while utilizing best development practices (agile and TDD);
- Time series/unstructured data and formulate hypothesis that can be tested and verified.
- Time series data; and,
Must have 2 years of experience in the following:
- Developing software for pricing, hedging and routing orders to various exchange markets; and,
- US Treasury, Exchange Traded Futures;
- Electronic trading software design patterns and experience with central limit order book/ market microstructure.
Certification: Must have or be able to obtain FINRA Series 7 license within 90 days of hire.
Travel: International travel up to 10%
The base salary for this job is $175,000 per year. This salary does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
