Job Description

Duties

  • Support the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence G3 by providing fixed wing flight training programs of instruction.
  • Administers end-of-stage/phase rides to include checkrides, rechecks, progress rides, and spot checkrides to rated and nonrated student pilots.
  • Administer annual/semi-annual standardization rides to contractor and military instructor pilots and instrument renewal checkrides.
  • Monitors civilian contractor's compliance with flight contract obligations.
  • Assists in standardization of flight training by monitoring criteria and procedures and recommending changes.

Conditions of Employment

  • Able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Position requires a Commercial Pilot Certificate with airplane single engine land. (A copy must be uploaded with your application in order to be considered for this position)
  • Able to maintain both an Army Class II flight physical and a FAA second class medical certificate.
  • Position requires a first or second medical certificate or equivalent flight physical in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations prior to employment.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random drug testing thereafter,per AR 600-85.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the expierence requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) conducting evaluation of flights under instrument flight conditions; (2) Operating single engine and/or multi-engine fixed wing aircraft and simulators; and (3) developing a variety of flight process such as flight procedures, evaluation of proposed changes to the airspace system and analysis of data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Certifications: This position requires you possess the appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Pilot Certificates, FAA Flight Instructor Certificate and/or appropriate military rating. Do you possess the appropriate Federal Aviation Administration
