Job Description
Summary You will serve as a AIRCRAFT OVERHAUL AND REPAIR (ASSISTANT PROGRESSMAN) in the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Production Department of FLTREADCEN EAST. Responsibilities You will meet with shop supervisors, feeder shop Progressman and others to draw up realistic schedules for in shop and synchronization of routed part schedules. You will follow up on work by means of records and direct observation. You will recommend changes in procedure, setting up of additional machinery, and use of additional or different equipment. You will make tentative recommendations about changes in procedure, machinery setup, use of additional or different equipment. You will expedite work and materials into and through shop and perform necessary liaison work between the shop and various other departments. You will maintain follow-up records and prepare reports. You will maintain surveillance over work orders and materials assigned to a shop for overhaul, repair, manufacture, disassembly or assembly Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION 1) Analyzing original design concepts or establishing, adapting, interpreting, and extending guidelines related to aircraft production/modifications/overhaul; 2) Performing investigations and analyzing, planning, and implementing corrective action when aircraft production issues arise; 3) Establishing effective cost controls for conventional problems which may occur during the pre-planning or work-in-progress phase; and 4) Utilizing maintenance management software/Aircraft Software to update inventory/ Mod Tool Kitting procedures and aircraft production processes.
