Position Summary

This is an on-site position located at Los Angeles, CA.

Thales is currently seeking an Aircraft Line Maintenance Technician in Los Angeles, CA (LAX Airport.) The Aircraft Maintenance Technician performs line maintenance work, installation work, repair station work, and ground equipment maintenance work on the Thales In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration Regulations (FARs), airline customers’ maintenance manuals and internal operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and systems modifications on all Thales Systems.
  • Other duties as assigned by Team leader.
  • Provide Customers with support in the ability to carry out and uphold Company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all airline log book discrepancies pertaining to all Thales Systems are cleared in a timely manner.
  • Document maintenance performed on a daily basis utilizing established procedures and submit a daily report to the Supervisor of Maintenance.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Able to obtain and maintain Customs Clearance for airport security badge (as required for job duties.)
  • Two (2) years of line maintenance experience or Two (2) years of aircraft maintenance technician school.
  • Able to crawl, bend, kneel, climb and stoop frequently in confined spaces.
  • Must have the ability to use a variety of hand tools to test equipment frequently.
  • Meet recent experience requirements in accordance with 14 CFR 65.83.
  • Able to obtain and maintain local airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge.
  • Must be able to handle objects up to 20 pounds frequently.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country in which the position is located.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain a valid, unrestricted Passport for potential travel in and out of the United States.
  • Able to drive tugs, trucks, lift trucks, snorkel lift, boom lift and tractor after attending training.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a record that meets our insurance standards.
  • Must be able to handle objects up to 50 to 80 pounds occasionally.
  • Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate required.
  • Must pass a 10 year background check which includes fingerprinting, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC.)
  • Ability to reach technical literature, follow oral instructions and communicate with cross functional team members and customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to terminate electrical connectors utilizing proper crimp. methods as well as proper soldering methods acceptable in the aviation industry.
  • Federal Communication Commission (FCC) license.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and follow written procedures and instructions.
  • Display comprehensive knowledge in Avionics/Electronics.
