We are looking for an energetic, passionate, detail-oriented program planner to join our dynamic Aging team. Working with the planning, fiscal, publicity and programmatic functions of the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) as funded by federal, state, and local monies is a priority for the person in this position.

The ideal candidate for the Aging Program Planner is passionate about helping seniors in the community. The ability to assist with the integration of health care and business strategies with human services across the region is a core responsibility. Resolving problem situations on own accord and being resourceful in gathering and giving program information in a diplomatic manner is beneficial to this role.

For a typical assignment, the Aging Program Planner will maintain contractual, compliance, and performance documentation related to services provided with Older Americans Act, Home and Community Care Block Grant, and other related state, local, and other funding. As it relates to the Area Aging plan, you will play a primary role in the planning, data management and effective relationships with healthcare, media, and resource development for potential partners, older adults and caregivers. In addition, you may assist with monitoring and assessing the effectiveness of the services delivered provided by the various funding.You will use your strong organizational and superb communication skills, verbal and written, to interact with a variety of customers including coworkers, general public, elected officials, and healthcare professionals. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The candidate for the Aging Program Planner will have a Master's degree in public administration, public health, business, or closely related field with considerable experience in human services and health related programs. An equivalent amount of education and experience sufficient to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Working knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, equipment, and various computer products, including Microsoft programs, will be essential in this role.

If you are selected to fill the role of Aging Program Planner, you will need to present a valid North Carolina driver's license, pass the pre-employment drug screening and background screening process.Travel within the 12-county region is a requirement. Other travel may be required on occasion.

All of our PTRC staff is required to complete a six-month probationary employment period.

SALARY RANGE: Salary $50,233.28 DOQ. Organization provides excellent benefits including NC Local Governmental Employees Retirement System (NCLGERS), and participates in PSLFP.
