As an Agile Specialist, you will be an experienced leader and coach for cross-functional agile teams to deliver and support complex software capabilities and offerings. The Agile Specialist guides and facilitates Scrum and/or Kanban teams involved in a large, fast-paced program implementing complex technology for business-oriented solutions, through effective application of the Agile lifecycle and associated ceremonies, ensuring the agreed-upon agile practice is being followed. Removing impediments and fostering a high-performing team with a focus on continuous improvement resulting in quality and timely delivery. Facilitate and surface delivery health by understanding and leveraging metrics, delivery dashboards, risk mitigation strategies, dependency coordination, and feedback loops.
The key responsibilities of an Agile Specialist include:
- Coordinate activities with other teams across the program
- Prepare and present reports on progress and success
- Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on productive conflict resolution and problem-solving
- Guide, coach, and motivate teams with the goal of increasing productivity
- Organize and lead agile ceremonies
- Facilitate user requirement elicitation session in conjunction with the Product Manager
- Facilitate discussions, decision making, and conflict resolution
- Document user requirements as backlog items
- Surface delivery health by understanding and leveraging metrics, delivery dashboards, risk mitigation strategies, dependency coordination, and feedback loops
- Collaborate to create, manage, and maintain improvement strategies and roadmaps at both the value stream and team level
- Oversee and manage scope, timeline, quality, goals, and deliverables that support business goals
- Partner with and support the Product Manager
- Manage Sprint and Product backlogs in conjunction with the Product Manager
- Remove impediments or guide the team to remove impediments

- Minimum experience requirements: five years of experience required
- Strong ability to manage multiple agile teams and ensure a proper balance between client, business and technology teams, and management
- Excellent team player and team builder
- Must have exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization
- Acceptable candidates must successfully pass a drug test and background screen
- Proven knowledge and experience with agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures
- Experience in Jira
- Must be self-motivated as well as creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex problems
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with diverse personality types
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Experience in an agile environment in lead role
- Ability to understand technical issues at a high level and communicate agile methodologies within the organization
- Must have or be willing to obtain Secret Clearance (this requires US Citizenship)
- Demonstrated leadership ability to coach and mentor the team to reach their highest potential
- Agile specialist experience in a complex, large-scale enterprise capabilities
