Aerospace Structures Engineer III

Location: Hybrid - Centennial, CO/Huntsville, AL

Your Role
SAS’ Engineering team is critical to executing our missions. As an Aerospace Structures Engineer III, you will apply your knowledge of structural analysis (e.g., materials technology, finite element modeling, static/coupled-loads analysis, fatigue analysis, damage tolerance analysis, thermal analysis, vibration analysis, structural testing, etc.) to determine structural adequacy of spacecraft and spacecraft components to customer requirements and regulatory compliance.
To qualify for the position, you must have the following requirements and skills:
  • BS degree or higher in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering or a related field, 4 + years of related experience in statics, dynamics, the strength of materials, and linear algebra
  • Proficiency in the use of IDEAS, NX, NASTRAN, or similar finite element pre/post-processing software is preferred
  • Experience performing structural analysis of aerospace-related hardware, including stress analysis and structural dynamics.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in the use of FEMAP
  • Experience producing error-free models in Mathcad, Matlab, or Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools
In addition, we are most interested in candidates who have the following experience:
  • Understanding of GD&T standards and principles
  • Construct, modify, and run structural finite element models
  • Construct, modify, and run closed-form and analytical structural analysis
  • Generate documentation to support analysis and margins utilizing provided templates
  • Develop margins based on analysis in compliance with factors specified in provided standards
How You Will Be Rewarded
The annual salary for this role is $72,000 to $187,000. Compensation depends on the candidate’s work experience, education/training, and related skills.
