Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reports to the director of admission and is primarily responsible for the timely completion of applicant files and for advising and counseling prospective students on program fit, admission and eligibility requirements, financial aid processes and first-time enrollment issues.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, customer-tracking software. - Comfort discussing programming technologies.

  • Experience representing high-value products and services to a diverse customer base. - High service-orientation, strong desire to work in a mission-driven culture and work in the best interests of the students.
  • Knowledge on CRMs and other student-based systems.
  • Displayed track record of advanced performance and ability to meet objectives. - Ability to work in a goal driven and measured performance environment.
  • Proven ability to plan and forecast accurately leveraging technology and reporting tools.


Admissions Counselor Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining accurate and current knowledge of educational legislation, trends, developments, and resources.
  • Staying current with school admission processes and requirements, school programs, majors, and courses, and developments in education and financial aid.
  • Assisting students in the enrollment process with partnered Universities and Colleges.
  • Highlighting the benefits of specific schools, programs, and courses to attract students and encourage diversity on campus.
  • Complete additional tasks and duties assigned by management.
  • Conducting interviews, reviewing application materials, and assisting in the admissions decision-making process.


Admissions Counselor Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or relevant field.
  • 2+ years of experience working in college admissions
  • Must be able to work Nights and weekends as business needs require.
  • Excellent active listening, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong planning and people reading skills.
  • Willingness to guide others and provide ongoing support as they make important decisions.
  • Familiarity with college and university programs, majors, admissions requirements, processes, scholarship, and financial aid resources.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized.
