Job Description

Description/Job Summary

Resources for Human Development's PA IDD Service Line is recruting for an Admissions Coordinator to ensure that persons seeking services are admitted efficiently, and have the opportunity to participate in working with the RHD team and our process to determined the most appropriate level of care. The Admissions Coordinator is involved in communicating and guiding individuals, their families and referral sources through phases of the admissions process while linking internal teams with the needs and choices of persons considering RHD for their service provider.

Responsibilities/Duties

Systems, Workflows and Process Improvement Management

  • Coordinate with referral sources.
  • Refer inquiries to other agencies and community resources when not appropriate for facility assistance or admission.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Positively promotes RHD to prospective individuals, families, and employees.
  • Maintain consistent and accurate records through EHR and other internal systems.
  • Respond to inquiries from individuals, families and referring providers in a timely and professional manner and inform appropriate administrative, clinical and/ or medical staff on these matters.
  • Assist prospective individuals and their loved ones in seeking treatment.
  • Drive operational excellence, call quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Update and maintain concise tracking of referral data including individual's demographics, referral disposition, and referral/admission outcomes.
  • Preparing the individual and/ or family for admission process.
  • Attends both quarterly and annual performance reviews with all department staff and/or direct supervisor.
  • Initiate contact to gather required clinical and demographic data from individual and other sources.
  • Responsible for maintaining all the documentation involved with the admissions process.
  • Participate in planning meetings with OPD, AEs, or other referral sources as needed to obtain information to assist in the referral review process.
  • Respond promptly to inquiry calls.
  • Communicate all necessary information to appropriate internal staff during the pre-admission process.
  • Conduct pre-admission assessments including but not limited to review of clinical information for perspective individuals and relay information to the referral committee.


Value-Based Environment

  • Assists in developing and maintaining a values-based environment.
  • Participates in Service line advocacy initiatives.


Departmental Collaboration

  • Supports the supervision of systems and processes for the Service Lines, Human Resources, and Training and Development.
  • Coordinates and reviews documentation and reports for external entities, such as Shared Service departments and the Service Lines.
  • Supports/leads program and divisional operational activities, including special projects and acts as chair for referral committee.


Remote and in office work is projected to be 50/50 with travel throughout the state for 10% to 20% of the time.

Required Experience

2 or more years work experience evaluating and interpreting clinical information, working directly with persons with an intellectual disability, developmental disability, and/or autism.

Required Education

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred or equivalent education and experience.

RHD IDD programs provide person centered and trauma informed day, employment, shared living and residential services for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and/or Autism.
