Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We are seeking a highly skilled healthcare leader to fill an Administrator position at our Honolulu, Hawaii facility.


Position Responsibilities


The Administrator is accountable for all aspects of the facility’s performance including development of the high-performance culture required to drive quality care and optimal patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, regulatory compliance, safety, and financial stewardship. The Administrator is responsible for the alignment of strategic goals with the overall mission of Shriners Children's. Areas of responsibility include leadership, strategic planning/business development, communications and collaboration, professional development, fiscal and stewardship responsibility, and executive responsibility.


Position Qualifications


  • Strong verbal / written communication skills, and the desire for potential growth are key to this role.
  • Certification and/or Fellowship in the ACHE is preferred.
  • 15 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience in an acute care hospital/multi-disciplinary healthcare setting is required.
  • Five years of management experience in a non-profit healthcare system would be preferred.
  • A Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Business Management or a related healthcare field is required.
  • The ideal candidate will exhibit compassion and empathy towards our pediatric patients and their families.
  • Five years of management oversight within one of Shriners' service lines (SCI, pediatric orthopedics, burn care, cleft lip and palate) is preferred.


Current full Covid vaccination status is required.

Hours Full-Time (1.0 FTE);


Schedule No overnight call, no working weekends, no working holidays!


This position works 4 (four) 10-hour shifts from 700am – 530pm


Assigned on-call up to three times in 2-week pay period (call is designed to provide coverage for cases running late—not considered mandatory over-time). Emphasis on providing work/life balance.*If interested in learning scrub duties, we are willing to train


Job Summary


Shriners Children's – Portland is seeking a full-time O.R. Circulating RN to join our Operating Room/Surgical Services team! The Circulating RN is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, while circulating pediatric orthopedic and spine surgeries. Shriners Children's – Portland primarily performs complex orthopedic procedures, spinal fusions, halo applications, head, neck and ENT procedures.


The OR Registered Nurse provides nursing care to our pediatric patients within the operating room, performs assessments and interventions designed to keep the patients safe during surgery. Our OR team enjoys a quality work-life balance through a 4/10 dayshift schedule with minimal weekend and holiday call.


  • Ability to work as a role model for staff, demonstrating problem solving skills and nursing best practices
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Experience scrubbing surgical cases is a plus
  • Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required
  • Flexibility to delegate, prioritize, and adapt in stressful situations
  • Experience working with pediatric orthopedic patients is preferred
  • Current Oregon RN licensure
  • Must have the flexibility to alter assignments on short notice and work with diverse personalities and changing situations
  • CNOR certification is preferred
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is required
  • Pediatric Advances Life Support (PALS) certification or the ability to obtain within six months of hire is required
  • Two (2) years’ experience working in a main operating room is required
