Description
The Department of Teacher Education is seeking qualified candidates who are enthusiastic about teaching for ongoing part-time adjunct instructor positions. Teaching assignments will vary based on departmental needs.
Candidates are expected to perform the following essential duties:
Maintain current knowledge of the discipline.
Present course material in a clear, organized manner using methodologies appropriate to the discipline-e.g., lecture, demonstration, technology.
Explain course expectations clearly to students.
Adhere to the requirements of the department's curriculum.
Adhere to all university safety policies regarding classroom equipment and materials.
Grade assigned papers, examinations, or projects in a timely manner so that students may benefit from the feedback.
Provide students with individualized help and consultation to meet students' needs.
Meet administrative requirements and deadlines such as those for submitting course syllabi, conducting student course evaluations, and submitting final grades.
Use technology as established and communicated by the University to carry out the administrative duties associated with teaching.

Minimum Qualifications
General qualifications should be appropriate for the level of class being taught, preferably a master's degree or higher in Education or a related field and/or several years' professional experience in a relevant field. The applicant should have experience and/or training relevant to the content area being taught. A willingness to work collaboratively with faculty, as well as teach and mentor students from a wide range of disciplines, cultures, and academic backgrounds is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
Applicants should be qualified to teach coursework in a variety of modalities to meet the demands of the department. Additional consideration will be given to candidates who demonstrate multicultural competence in the awareness, knowledge, and skills needed to work independently and collaboratively with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant, and productive ways.
