The stated pay range is based on a national-average location. Actual salary is determined by factors including relevant work experience, skills and location.

CNO Financial Group is hiring an Actuarial Trainee to gather, prepare, and provide management with actuarial information through specific analyses and reports.

This is your opportunity to be a part of a robust student program. The position relates to valuation, projection, and reporting of annuity business for CNO insurance companies. Additionally, the position will require progression on exams and progress through the actuarial educational system.

As an Actuarial Trainee your responsibilities will include:

• Assist with the preparation of reports and studies.
• Provide clear communication of technical work.
• Provide support to actuaries by performing analysis within a business segment.
• Make exam progress toward Fellowship with the Society of Actuaries in certain stretches of time to maintain good standing in actuarial student development program.

The Actuarial Trainee position is well-suited for you if you:

• Possess superior analytical thinking and attention to details skills.
• A natural leader that works well in a collaborative team setting.
• Enjoy presenting your work and educating others on results.
• Hold excellent written and oral communication skills.

Qualified candidates will have:

• Successful completion of at least one actuarial exam.
• Experience with spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications.
• Understanding of programming languages including Visual Basic in Excel, and SAS, is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, or related field required

Associates who live within a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Orlando and Milwaukee) have access to come into that Office up to 2 days/week, and are encouraged to come into the office at least twice per month. You may be asked to travel to corporate office periodically.

Associates who live outside of a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Orlando and Milwaukee) may perform this role full-time work from home (WFH) from any US based location, as long as you are willing to work central or eastern time zone hours. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.
