Job Description

The Engine Division of Kawasaki Motors Corp, headquartered in Grand Rapids, MI has an immediate opening for an Accounts Receivable Coordinator, based in Grand Rapids, MI.


An Accounts Receivable Coordinator compiles, records, verifies, and maintains data and payments to accounts payable and receivable records for Kawasaki's dealer network. They will also notify dealers with delinquent accounts and attempts to secure payment and assists dealers with problem solving.


What You Will be Doing:

  • Turns over severe delinquent accounts to supervisor for review to send to collections department.
  • Identify potential problems or communication breakdowns between Kawasaki and dealers, while assisting in a solution.
  • Performs administrative duties including, copying, filing, e-mailing or faxing invoices/statements.
  • Answers inquiries pertaining to dealer account status, account balance, payment discrepancies and refund of dealer credit balance. Assists district managers with credit inquires and other concerns.
  • Records information about financial status of customer and status of collection efforts. Escalates to sending a final demand for payment as necessary.
  • Researches discrepancies pertaining to dealer payments.
  • Review orders being held due to insufficient credit line including pulling an updated credit report and submitting the file to the supervisor to review for credit line increase.
  • Communicates with dealers by telephone, e-mail and/or fax in attempt to determine reason for overdue payment, reviewing terms of sale, methods of payment and where to find invoices/monthly statements on the website.
  • Analyzes dealer accounts and negotiates extended terms and/or payment plans with dealers when cash is restricted.
  • Prepares and processes daily remote bank deposit.
  • Resolves non-sufficient fund situations.
  • Reviews and posts daily payments to dealer accounts.
  • Responsible for collection of past due accounts.
  • Investigates problems with dealer invoices. Provides problem resolution.
  • Performs training to new hires.
  • Interfaces with Kawasaki's Customer Care Department to resolve customer disputes.


Skills Needed to be Successful:

  • High school diploma required, Associate’s degree or some college preferred.
  • Extremely detail and deadline oriented.
  • Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • 3+ years related experience in the finance field, specifically accounts receivable environment.
  • Successfully prioritize and organize multiple, competing tasks.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft's Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access software.
