Job Description
HR Butler is a streamlined, consolidated operation that is a forerunner in Consumer-driven Health Plans and Employee Benefits. We offer a wide scope of Human Resource, Benefits, Payroll, and Time & Attendance products and services to our clients. HR Butler consists of industry trained professionals able to provide valuable guidance and service in these fields. Our people drive our success.


The Accounting Specialist must be personable and professional, and possess strong attention to detail and accuracy. This position deals with daily reconciliations, accounts payable entries, commissions tracking, audits, and various other accounting responsibilities. The Finance Department collaborates regularly with other departments. It is our mission to be helpful to and supportive of the company team as a whole.


Responsibilities


  • Self-motivated and an independent thinker
  • Accounts Payable: entries and payment management
  • Corporate credit card reconciliations
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned
  • Superior problem solving, resolution, and analysis skills
  • Unclaimed Funds reporting
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Remote bank deposits
  • Sales Tax and Commercial Activity Tax returns
  • Manage data records for sales commissions
  • Trust account reconciliations
  • ACA reporting
  • Utilizing and staying up-to-date on multiple software platforms


Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)


  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
  • Three or more years of experience in accounting, such as bookkeeping and/or accounts payable
  • Working toward a four-year college degree in Finance or Accounting a plus
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability and motivation to build and maintain strong intercompany relationships
  • QuickBooks experience a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as SOPs, work instructions, and software manuals
  • Proficiency with MS Excel
