Job Summary
As an Accounting Officer, Intermediate you will serve as a statewide Accounting Officer assisting with accounting functions such as monitoring and reconciling expenditures and encumbrances and purchasing for multiple locations. This role will participate in workplace innovation efforts and contributing to the team success. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
To receive credit for your education and experience, your resume should clearly describe how you meet each minimum and/or preferred qualification listed, including dates of employment.
One (1) year professional experience in accounting, accounts receivable, and/or accounts payable
OR
Associates degree in Accounting.
Applicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the following:
Working knowledge of excel formulas and calculating.
Ability to:
- Manage multiple priorities at the same time to meet strict deadlines.
- Process invoices, monitor and reconcile program budgets.
Written and verbal communication skills to establish and maintain working relationships with all vendors, stakeholders, managers, and leadership.
Skill in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software applications to prepare spreadsheets, enter data into established spreadsheets, create formulas, generate routine reports, reconciliations, and other documents are necessary.
Incumbent must maintain valid driver's license, & insurance, OR have other reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
Associates degree in Accounting.
Experience with Statewide Accounting and Procurement System (SWIFT) to compile, analyze, and interpret fiscal information or other types of accounting software.
Knowledge of CareerForce Employment Services and programs such as Wagner-Peyser, Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA), Dislocated Worker Program (DWP), Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP), Diversionary Work Program (DWP), and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) administrative contracts.
