Accounting Manager - Operational Accounting

Reporting to the Director, Accounting and Reporting, this position will manage the Operational accounting team and be responsible for the full cycle of general ledger-related Accounting. These tasks will include but are not limited to, coordinating the monthly close, preparing and reviewing accrual journal entries, preparing, and reviewing month-end close journal entries, preparing GL account reconciliations, overseeing audits, monthly financial review, and providing financial reporting in a collaborative team driven environment.

• Balance Sheet roll forwards for perspective accounts
• Review and approve coding for purchase requests and accounts payable vouchers in the procurement/purchasing software (Ivalua).
• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the business operations, financial systems and the general ledger structure.
• Review of journal entries of direct reports to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Review accruals and information provided from the Procurement system (Ivalua)
• Account Reconciliations at the end of each month
• Support external audit by providing necessary PBC items.
• Performs month end close duties and associated journal entries
• Assist in special projects and/or other areas as needed.
• Supervise and mentor team of 4-5 Accountants (Staff and Senior)
• Coordinate and support audits of various Airport Authorities as required by the contract
• Review of inventory balances at all Airport locations to ensure completeness and accuracy. Support of quarterly inventory counts at the Airports
• Support system maintenance needs of Ivalua.

• Ability to manage competing deliverables
• BS/BA in Accounting.
• High integrity, solid work ethic and exceptionally detail oriented.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment with tight deadlines.
• Minimum 8 years working in an Operational Accounting, General Ledger Accounting, or other Accounting role that includes monthly close activities
