Job Description
Thinc Forward is a growing MSP looking to hire a motivated individual for an Accounting Manager position. This position is a hybrid role (3 days in the office, 2 days from home) located in West Chester, PA. The ideal candidate has relevant current experience in accounting, is able to work independently, has a history of strong leadership and process development skills, and will bring ideas as a problem-solver, proactive communicator, and multi-tasker. In this role you will be a key member of our team, responsible for overseeing most financial aspects of our organization. You will lead a team of financial professionals, set up efficient financial processes, and be instrumental in optimizing our financial software systems.


Hours:


Salary position with a schedule of 8:30 am – 5:00 pm EST, Monday through Friday with occasional work required past 5:00 pm.


Responsibilities


  • Support the formulation and implementation of control systems within the organization
  • Develop and evaluate budgets, prepare budget reports, ensure chart of accounts are maintained, and draft P&L statements and balance sheets.
  • Provide strong financial and operational leadership and mentorship to a finance team, by fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture with clear goals, expectations, processes, and job functions
  • Follow changes in regulations and compile reports regarding compliance issues, standards, and accounting practices
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and treasury, while identifying discrepancies, managing cash flow, and reconciling accounts while supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
  • Develop and implement efficient financial processes and controls to optimize accuracy and productivity while proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Assist with special projects as needed
  • Assist Operations with financial process improvement practices, inclusive of synching up subsystems to support financial reporting, inventory updates, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Prepare and consolidate financial statements/reports, take ownership of the General Ledger to ensure accuracy using various software programs (QuickBooks, FreshBooks, Microsoft Products, and NetSuite), and oversee the day-to-day financial operations
  • Act as a strategic partner to the executive team by providing financial insights and recommendations where necessary, inclusive of actionable insights, while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Advise on potential upgrades to financial software systems, including migration to an ERP system, and spearhead the transition, process development and staff training for a successful transition.
  • Ensure strict compliance with company and regulatory standards, prepare and assist with internal or external audits, and work on subsystem alignment for sales and tax use reporting.


Requirements


  • BS in Accounting, Finance, or comparable degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Multitasking skills and ability to act with a sense of urgency and work under pressure
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, financial planning, analysis and reporting.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and process development skills.
  • QuickBooks, financial ERP system, and Microsoft Office Suite experience, with strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software applications quickly.
  • A highly motivated, self-driven, curious, and creative individual with the ability to independently move projects forward as well as adapt to changing work priorities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and problem-solve.
  • Experience in ERP implementation, particularly in migration from QuickBooks.
