Accounting Intern Jobs

The Part Time Accounting Intern is a paid position in which the Internship duration will end on March 15th, 2023.

Interns are not eligible for Company Benefits.

Interns may not work more than 29 hours per week.

SUMMARY:

An accounting position that is essentially clerical in nature. Work is performed under close supervision and in accordance with established routines and procedures. Processes a variety of entries and performs support functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Shadow members of the accounting department as they perform their duties.

• Assist with research, filing, data entry, recording and maintain accurate and complete financial records.

• Preparing financial reports such as balance sheets and income statements, invoices, and other requested documents.

• Prepare basic general ledger reconciliation.

• Work with accounting software.

• Keys daily entry in Episys GL Posting Program and Prologue as required.

• Prepare invoices for approval and proper general ledger coding.

• Process all accounts payable checks for mail distribution.

• Researches/retrieves and prints items from Image Center as needed.

• As an accounting department employee this position must key or accept journal entry transactions, field calls for other accounting questions, key or verify ACH originations, ACH Research, and place stop pay on teller checks.

• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED plus one semester completion of college accounting. Currently enrolled in Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or master’s degree in accounting preferred.

COMPENSATION:

While this is a paid internship, interns are NOT eligible for company benefits to include, but not limited to PTO, 401(K), SHORT TERM DISABILITY, AND/OR MEDICAL BENEFITS.
