Description of Work
  • THIS IS A REPOST...PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED TO REAPPLY TO BE CONSIDERED* This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits Note to Current State Employees: The salary grade for this position isNC02. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result. Salary Grade:NC02 Salary Range: $26,705-$46,734 Minimum Salary is $31,200 This position is located at Piedmont Correctional Institution in Rowan County, NC. Piedmont Correctional Institution is a medium/minimum custody male facility. This position maintains general ledger which will include pertinent budget information for all purchase orders, requisitions and contracts, so that current amounts expended and encumbered by line item can be accessed as needed. This position deals frequently with institutional staff, particularly institutional management from the Custody and Programs sections for the processing of purchase orders, contracts and P-Card purchases as well as reconciling the P-Cards. This position is also responsible for negotiating contracts with various suppliers and service providers, endeavoring to get the best prices and terms for the State. This position monitors all Welfare expenditures, expense vouchers and contracts. This position also keeps up with the travel nurse contracts and timesheets. This position is also backup for the Accounting Clerk I that handles the trust fund and incentive wages. Must be able to work independently and meet constant deadlines while performing several tasks simultaneously.
