The Position


Accounting Assistants perform clerical accounting work in the maintenance of accounts and accounting records for State agencies.


Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. The Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) Children's Mental Health Billing Unit in the Las Vegas Office is hiring for an Accounting Assistant 2. This position acts as the enrollment and credentialing specialist for DSFS rendering providers.


Main duties for this position include but are not limited to: Practitioner enrollment with Medicaid -receiving HR Work Orders or other notifications and determine enrollment/update/termination needs. Create electronic files for all enrolled program staff. Schedule, prepare for and conduct enrollment onboarding meetings to include verifying National Provider Identifier (NPI) and CAQH records and Medicaid enrollment status, gathering all Medicaid enrollment documentation and checklists and seeing them through to completion. Using Medicaid's Electronic Verification System (EVS) enter and track all enrollment applications and updates timely. Practitioner Enrollment Data Entry into myAvatar and all maintenance of myAvatar and master spreadsheets and files for Medicaid and all other guarantors as applicable. Prepare and submit required rosters to each guarantor as required. Administrative Duties to include receiving and distributing mail, ordering office supplies and other duties as assigned. Data entry and Microsoft excel experience is required. Medical provider credentialing experience is helpful, but not required. To Qualify


In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:


Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical accounting experience which must have included duties such as coding documents to distribute funds; preparing accounts payable and accounts receivable documents and balancing accounts; and using computer spreadsheets to record, track organize and report data; OR one year of experience as an Accounting Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
