The University of South Alabama’s Office of the Registrar is seeking to hire an Academic Records Specialist. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
- Enters data in the student information system (Banner).
- Evaluates transfer credit and makes a final determination of appropriate credits.
- Related duties as required.
- Reports and releases accurate student information in accordance with FERPA guidelines.
- Ensures transfer institution is accredited.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ensures accuracy and compliance with University requirements to maintain academic integrity, remains up-to-date on evaluation, educational practices and the latest information on academic policy regarding transfer credit equivalency standards at the undergraduate level.
- Addresses questions and concerns of prospective and currently enrolled students, USA departments, advisors, and the general public regarding transferability of academic credit in-person, telephone, email, and written correspondence.
- Obtains course descriptions, catalogs, and institutional information via web research and online transfer databases.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
- Helps maintain transfer articulation databases, updates TES (Transfer Evaluation System) with standard equivalencies, as needed.
- Evaluates post-secondary academic credentials.
- Maintains evaluation checklist and related materials in the documents imaging software (Xtender).
- Contacts colleges and universities to obtain needed documents.
