ACADEMIC COUNSELOR

Location: 2301 W Ashton Boulevard, Lehi, UT 84043

Status: Full-Time / Exempt

Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm

Pay / Salary: \$53,504

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Academic Counselor include, but are not limited to:

• Recording data and maintaining counseling records.
• Maintaining records to meet accreditation standards.
• Counseling students and prospective students on possible careers, educational goals, training programs and related personal concerns
• Creating and presenting workshops and class presentations.
• Directing students toward resources for employment that will utilize their education, assist with resume writing and interviewing skills to help them achieve their occupational goals.
• Counseling students on social and mental health issues.
• Counseling students throughout enrollment at MTECH, with regard to entrance criteria, meeting on-going demands of program and employment options upon completion.
• Coordinating Americans with Disabilities Act services and accommodations.
• Facilitating the advisement and registration of new and continuing students. Advising new and continuing students regarding goals, policies and program requirements.
• Reviewing student performance & attendance on a regular basis. Provide students who are below program standards with study skill resources.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Experience in writing assessments, reports, and maintaining information in a database to monitor student progress.
• Master\'s degree program in counseling, education, behavioral science, or another related field.
