Academic Advisor (Position Requires Relocation To Kuwait)

Full-time Academic Advisor

American International University, Kuwait

American International University (AIU) is looking for a dynamic and engaged full-time Academic Advisor. We seek an individual who is passionate about mentoring and working with young adults, building successful learning environments with students, and who can collaboratively engage with faculty and mentor students.

Responsibilities for Academic Advisor

• Serving as a counselor for students working with difficult courses or life challenges that may interrupt degree completion.
• Planning and scheduling a calendar to meet regularly with advisees.
• Providing assistance to students during their application and course registration.
• Facilitate written documentation upon request.
• Keeping accurate records of student coursework.
• Transfer necessary documents to different departments, inter-schools, or districts upon request.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Student Success Center.
• Study necessary paths to degree attainment, depending on the discipline and educational level.
• Effectively communicate institutional standards for commencement or graduation.

Qualifications for Academic Advisor

• Strong English communication skills.
• Proven ability to work independently.
• Must be highly organized and capable of handling multiple caseloads.
• Master’s degree in education and/or in the counseling field - Desired.
• Knowledge of database software, ideally functional knowledge in Microsoft Office tools and other applications.
• The ability to work with a diverse group of students of different ages and ethnicity.
