Job Description
As a certified 6G pipe welder with experience with carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum (level II) you will work with PeopleReady Skilled Trades, to support mechanical construction and facility services in the Dallas, TX area. Note - The pay rate for this job is $27 - $33 / hour


Responsibilities


  • Responsible for setting up equipment and weld parts using arc, submerged arc, gas-shielded arc, MIG and TIG machines
  • Helps cut, ream, solder, braze, fuse, solvent weld, groove, thread pipe and pressfittings using measuring tools, pipe cutters, torches, beveling machines, reamers, bolts, screws, fittings, alloys, gaskets, solvent cement, fusing machine, groove and pipe-threading machines
  • Maintains required personal tools, and properly uses all PPE and safety equipment
  • Secure pipes to structure with clamps, brackets, and hangers, using hand tools
  • Inspects the structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of the structure resulting from the installation of pipe
  • Helps excavate, backfill and tamp ditches using shovels, picks and tampers
  • Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and fittings using hand and power tools
  • Maintains the work area in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
  • Select type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications, knowledge of system operation, and study of building plans / working drawings
  • Installing systems in accordance to specifications and appropriate trade and building codes
  • Lays out and marks position of pipe and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors using ruler, level, square and laser
  • Help plumbers, pipefitter/welders, sheet metal workers or HVAC workers as needed
  • Installs, maintains and repairs air-conditioning and refrigeration systems including compressors, pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic controls and piping and similar mechanical accessories
  • Lays-out, positions, aligns, fits, tack-welds, assembles and installs valves, hangers, pipe and fittings composed of metals such as iron, steel, aluminum, brass, copper and nonmetals such as fiberglass and plastic using hand tools, roustabouts, grasshoppers, come-alongs, chin falls and power tools
  • Meet and maintain quality and production standards for all work product
  • Studies specifications, building plans and shop drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installation
  • Installs sleeves and leave outs for roof and wall penetrations
  • Handling layouts, assembly, installation and repair of plumbing systems


Qualifications


  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Experience with scissor lifts, aerial lifts, and forklifts
  • Ability to work in variable weather (cold, heat, windy, etc)
  • Willing to perform a weld test Arc, sub arc, gas shield arc, MIG, and TIG experience
  • Reliable transportation
  • Tools of the trade including cordless impact
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods throughout the day with or without reasonable accommodation
  • 4+ years related experience 6G certification
