Job Description

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Possesses a strong aptitude for leadership, making necessary decisions relating to the accomplishment of construction or maintenance tasks.
  • Uses good communication skills and interfaces well with other field personnel and the client.
  • The Foreman plans, schedules and supervises the work in a safe, timely and productive manner.
  • Leads crew of craftspeople, helpers or laborers in performing their craft functions.
  • Responsible for certain administrative duties, including timesheets for crewmembers, production reports and schedules.

Qualifications and Education:

  • Minimum of 12 months documented field experience at Journeyman 3 level in chosen craft discipline.
  • Experience in monitoring cost and man-hour budgets.
  • NCCER+ or equivalent certification with relevant experience.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret instructions and documentation.
  • Experience in maintaining short range look ahead plans.

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Compare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects.
  • Apply shop mathematics to solve problems.
  • Work at heights without fear.
  • Plan work and select proper tools.
  • Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
  • Make decisions based on measurable criteria.
  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
