JOB SUMMARY Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care based on established clinical nursing care for patients in the medical surgical/Tele services based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Serves as the Resource nurse role when oriented and as directed. Supports the organization vision and mission. Utilizes knowledge of patient's age, developmental status, spiritual and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.

Education, Experience, Training

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing certificate. Licensure in the state of California as a Registered Nurse (RN). Proficient in oral and written communication skills. Ability to practice leadership, interpersonal skills, communication skills, teamwork, quality improvement and professionalism.

Current California RN license

BCLS, ACLS (AHA) and maintain current.

Preferred Chemotherapy 9655 The DOU RN is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the therapeutic environments, treatment and modalities and interdisciplinary collaboration. Perform initial physiological and psychosocial needs assessment on all patients within 30 minutes of admissions and shift assessment. Identifies problems specific to biophysical, cognitive, developmental, emotional, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs. Demonstrates accountability for on-going awareness of the status of assigned patients. Collects and documents data appropriate to the nature and severity of the condition.

Current California RN License. Current Basic Life Support (Healthcare Provider) and ACLS certification. Completion of Critical Care Course and Dysrhythmia Course if less than 2 years critical care experience. 1 to 2 years DOU/intermediate level/critical care nursing experience preferred. Current NIHSS certification, or within 90 days of employment.
