Over Drew Charter School’s twenty-year history, the school has grown to serve grades PreK-12 with nearly 1,900 students in a “cradle-to-college” pipeline, including two onsite early learning partners. Drew implements a rigorous and supportive educational continuum, which includes tailored Response to Intervention (RTI) support, a rigorous STEAM/Project-Based Learning (PBL) instructional model, and a robust College and Career Readiness program. Position Overview
Teaching responsibilities
  • Employ a variety of diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment strategies and instruments that are valid and appropriate for the content and student population.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents or guardians, school personnel, and other stakeholders in ways that enhance student learning
  • Help all students develop competence and confidence in the school wide learning outcomes of Agency, Written Communication, Oral Communication and Collaboration
  • Systematically gather, analyze, and use relevant data to measure student progress, to inform instructional content and delivery methods, and to provide timely and constructive feedback to both students & parents.
  • Establish a well-managed, safe, and orderly environment that is conducive to learning and encourages respect for all
  • Teach specific grade level subject matter to a diverse high school student population, following the Georgia Standards of Excellence using a Project-Based Learning approach
General responsibilities
  • Serve in a leadership capacity coaching, chairing a committee, serving as a team leader or sponsoring an extra-curricular activity
  • Serve as an advisor to 15-20 students using the school’s advisory curriculum
  • Sponsor a club or organization that meets weekly during the school day
  • Will teach middle school Spanish courses
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree with at least a 2.5 GPA required
Work Experience
  • 2-3 years of teaching experience (preferred)
Certifications
  • Passed or exempt the GACE PAA, GACE Ethics Entry Assessment, and GACE Content Assessment in field; OR
  • Minimum of GaPSC Level 4 Certification in Spanish; OR
  • Have reciprocity eligibility
