Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES shall include, but not be limited to the following:


  • Prepare for assigned classes. Show written evidence of instructional planning following established District format
  • Understand and apply knowledge about student growth and development in order to provide maximum student learning
  • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals. Based on these goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, etc.
  • Attend staff meetings and serve on District/school committees as required
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
  • Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s) and provide input on aide/volunteer performance
  • Implement the District’s philosophy of education, the instructional goals and objectives
  • Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students in accordance with State and District requirements for curriculum
  • Maintain accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, District policy and administrative regulations
  • Enforce and follow the policies and administrative regulations of the District
  • Maintain and improve personal/professional competence
  • Prepare substitute guidelines and lesson plans in timely manner
  • Make provisions to be available for educational related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested
  • Assist students to become self-directed learners
  • Participate in school goal setting, achievement and assessment
  • Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules of classroom behavior, procedure, and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and equitable manner
  • Enforce safety precautions and guidelines to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities
  • Recognize the learning disabilities of students and provide an appropriate instructional program to meet those needs
  • Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and times designated
  • Encourage students to set and maintain acceptable standards of classroom behavior
  • Perform all duties as assigned
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the students

Education and/or Experience

Required: Valid Arizona Teacher’s Certificate

NCLB Highly Qualified Status for core subject area teacher


  • Salary range listed below does not include 301 monies. The total amount can be changed based in information given by the state. The projected amount for 301 for the 2022-2023 school year is $7,200.
