Position Summary:
The Materials Group leader is responsible for coordinating activities throughout materials including but not limited to receiving, warehousing, shipping, and inventory control. They are responsible for leading, and coaching assigned team members to ensure material availability, inventory accuracy, and on-time shipping.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead MDI and other related materials activities and meetings
- Leading and training employees, providing feedback and coaching
- Ensure the safety of employees and adherence to EHS requirements
- Ensures all necessary documents are maintained and filed in accordance with compliance and retention policies
- Maintain accurate employee timekeeping and discipline records
- Ensuring material availability and accurate inventories
- Ensures all transactions and logs are executed correctly and in a timely manner
Key Competencies and Success Factors:
- Ability to perform job of the employees under their supervision
- Computer: High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office such as Excel, and Outlook. Capable of learning and utilizing multiple systems and databases.
- Communication: Strong oral communication and ability to communicate with both internal and external parties involved in scrap, trash, recycling, and storage.
- Ability to influence, coach and lead others both directly and indirectly
- Knowledge and application of the Lean Principles
- Works with little supervision
Other Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to operate powered industrial vehicles
