Job Description

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Will be responsible for material flow through the department

Provide leadership, along with the Quality Supervisor, and Quality Manager, in running the department safely and effectively.

Carry out instructions/directions of the Quality Supervisor and/or Quality Manager whether verbal or written

Responsible for managing and monitoring respective area of the Quality Management System (QMS)

Conduct Audits as assigned (Product, Process, Safety, 6s, etc)

Conduct quality checks throughout the plant and complying with all quality standards

Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed

Provide training to new and existing employees

Ensure quality targets are met

Lead and participate in problem solving and continuous improvement events

Trouble shoot machine issues and provide guidance on machine setups

Perform required testing and reporting of results,

Responsible for gage calibration program

Collect and analyze data

Generation of reports; such as Operational Improvement Team board KPI reports

Host team meetings, including Operational Improvement Team meetings

Other tasks as assigned by the Quality Manager/Supervisor

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

One year of quality experience or similar experience in detail-oriented environment is preferred

Three years of progressively responsible work experience (prior lead experience is preferred)

Knowledge of safe work practices

High School diploma or GED preferred

Ability to train others on safety, quality, performance, job responsibilities

Ability to read/write/communicate in English

Ability to lead/motivate/work in a team environment

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint

Proficient collecting, sorting, and graphing of data

Problem Solving skills

Knowledge of Quality Management Systems preferred


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged standing and repetitive motions, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, climbing stairs and pulling
May be required to frequently lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs as well as push/pull carts and/or pallet jack
Hand dexterity and strength
Overtime is required, including weekends sometimes with little or no advance notice
May be required to work a flexible schedule
It is an essential function of this position that you report to work on a regular basis
